Summer Road Trip Tips | We Buy Junk Cars Atlanta

There’s nothing like enjoying the summer sunshine with a great road trip.  Traveling to the beach, to see friends and family or just to check out some place new can be such a memorable experience. You want to be sure those memories are happy ones though. Making your summer road trip safe and comfortable are top priority. Here are a few tips that may make your trip that much nicer…

CHOOSE THE RIGHT VEHICLE:  It is important to choose a vehicle that is spacious enough to fit your passengers and luggage.  There is nothing worse than feeling cramped and irritated for a long road trip. Also, be sure to get a tune up, check your tire pressure and check all your fluids.  Your car should be in safe, road ready condition.

BRING THE “SUN” ESSENTIALS:  Driving in the summer usually means lots of sunshine and warm weather. Be sure that your cooling system is in tip top condition.  You will also want to bring a good pair of sunglasses, a back up pair of sunglasses and plenty of water.

PLAN, PLAN, PLAN:  You need to know your route and check for any possible construction or detours ahead of time.  Use a quality GPS system, but also bring printed directions and a map for back up.  Properly planning your trip will make it go much smoother.

STAY WELL RESTED:  Driving tired is very dangerous. Get a good night’s sleep the night before.  Also, have another driver available to alternate with. Take naps when the other person drives.  It is also important to stop for a full night’s sleep if your trip extends into nighttime hours.  Make plenty of stops as well, to stretch and eat.  Keep your body alert and in tune.
